World Thinking
Now we enter the second quarter of the anthroposophical calendar. The heat of summer and its radiant beauty envelopes us in a dreamy, restful state. The truths of the cosmic realms dance in nature around us and resound within us like musical instruments.
As the plants begin to bear fruit and seeds, cosmic forces quicken the spirit within us. One might recall the quickening of John within his mother Elizabeth when visited by the pregnant Mary, the mother of Jesus of the Gospel of Luke. "World Thinking" begins to bud within us as we kindle the fire within our own hearts to radiate the natural splendor of Spirit realms out into the world. For this to happen, we must forego the lower aspects of ourselves in favor of the Higher Self that is in harmony with the cosmic realms working in nature. When we act in accordance with higher, moral law rather than that of misguided human desires, we seek with a sense of inner knowledge of joining our expansive, spiritual family.
Practice the Calendar verses to entrain with the rhythms of the seasons. Together, we will radiate these forces out into society through our moral words and deeds of brotherly love.
