I make myself a garment of the Spirit
Last week called us to fill our "spiritual depths" with the "World-widths" of the "Word of worlds." We were beckoned to resonate with cosmic forces to transform ourselves. Now, we attempt to shape the soul into a worthy sheath to form a garment for the soul. Like a caterpillar enclosing ourselves in a chrysalis, we weave light into a protective shield while we fashion our wings to rise above this material world into the realms of the Spirit. Rudolf Steiner tells us, "Earthly matter is spun in the pattern of light rays, and when you come across a chrysalis you are really seeing pure sunlight spun around this earthly matter in the pattern of the sunbeam."1 Rudolf Steiner, How Spirit Works in Nature, 1. One might contemplate the ripe fruit of summer carrying the seed down into the earth through our actions. Transforming the gifts of summer that we have received, we prepare to become the catalysts of our own soul growth. We come to a deep understanding that our soul development must incorporate the love that was graced upon us. Can we extend ourselves to unite with the Light of the World to transform into the radiant beings we are intended to be?
